Motor Diesel
Diesel
Engined Road Vehicle (Derv) is also known as Diesel and has the same
properties as Gas Oil. It is used for Road Vehicles ,is treated with
antifreeze but is only “Wintergrade” from September to March
Unleaded Petrol
This is the most well known oil derivative and is used for fuelling vehicles
Kerosene
Also
known as Kero or Paraffin. Kerosene is a commercial/home heating oil,
orange in color clean burning and economical to use. Kerosene is
treated with an Anti freeze and is wintergrade all year round.
Gas Oil
Gas
Oil is also referred to as Agricultural, Green or tractor diesel. It is
also used as home heating oil in older outdoor house burners. It is
dyed green in color and can be used to run generators, truck fridge
units, construction machinery and off road vehicles.
Fuel oil
- Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) is the
cheapest of all oils. It is principally used in large processing
factories and has a high sulphur content.
- Medium Fuel Oil
(MFO)is a blend of HFO and Gas Oil. It is more expensive than HFO but
has a lighter content. Its principal uses are in Greenhouses and ships
- Light Fuel Oil (LFO) is similar to MFO except the quantity of Gas Oil used in the blend is higher. Major users are factories.
